Open Wildlife Garden

Hathern Wildlife Group has carried out developed over the interim years. many projects including tree, hedge and bulb planting. Wildflower meadow areas have been created in the park, cemetery and churchyard providing a reminder of the hay meadows of old. Last year, the parish council provided some land within the Shepshed Road allotments to be developed as a managed wildlife area. The group has created a range of habitats there including a pond and has used recycled material wherever possible. Come along and see what we have been up to! Children are welcome (under parental supervision) and you can help us build a bug hotel. It’s a 10-minute walk from the village and there is a small carpark inside the allotments gate.
